A petroleum geologist for 17 years, Drs Hans P. Hazebroek became a keen photographer while exploring rain forests in West Africa, the Amazon Basin, Papua New Guinea and Malaysia. Thereafter, he remained in Sarawak researching material for this book in association with the Sarawak Forestry Department. Abang Kashim bin Abang Morshidi set up the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries System in the Sarawak and was also involved in both tourism masterplan studies as well as the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Committee on Flora and Fauna.
